Mark Takano (CA-21) introduces 4 Day Week legislation

Did you hear the news?

Congressman Mark Takano, with co-signatures from Rashida Tlaib, Jan Schakowsky, and Chuy Garcia, introduced 4 Day Week legislation to the U.S. Congress. Now is the time to sign, share, and send a clear signal to Congress by sharing the petition with friends, family, roommates, and coworkers. We must make our voice heard to prove to Congress that we want a 4-day workweek.

Sign the petition if you haven’t already, and tweet about the work we’re doing together. When you’ve finished these, call your representative and encourage them to read Takano’s legislation and the benefits of a Four Day Week. Talk to your neighbors about the petition. Invite them to sign. If 40 signatures come from your workforce, we’ll reach out on your behalf to your management encouraging a pilot 4 Day Week.

With thousands of signatures coming in this week, press circulates for the 4 Day Week and companies like Edify join the movement. The AFL-CIO, the Economic Policy Institute, and more are on board, too:

“As workers become more and more productive, we deserve better pay and more time off. [A 4 day week] spreads work hours to more workers and minimizes unemployment. This could be a key mechanism to help ensure that the benefits of technological progress are shared broadly by working people.”

- Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO

Let's do this together - will you help us?
